We are developing our first hydrogen outboard product that includes the rim-driven thruster technology, featuring the representative colors of Pharos Marine.

Rim-driven Thruster

The thruster is designed to generate propulsion force through a rim-shaped rotor located at the outer periphery, as opposed to the conventional propulsion systems driven by a propeller hub.

Advantages

A rim-driven thruster directly transfers power to the rim-shaped electric motor, resulting in high energy transfer efficiency and low noise & vibration levels.

Design does not require a hub for transmission of the driving torque, resulting in reduction the risk of entanglement with floating objects such as nets and seaweed. This feature enhances safety and reduces the likelihood of accidents in marine environments.
